Minnesota Senate Passes Medical Marijuana Bill

Minnesota has joined a growing list of states that are taking steps to legalize the use of marijuana for medical purposes for critically ill patients with the passing of a bill in the state Senate this week.
However, a bill must still pass through the state House and is expected to meet opposition from lawmakers who fear abuse of the drug.
If the bill were to pass through both the Senate and the House it could still be shot down by Republican governor Tim Pawlenty who has expressed concerns with the bill.
Similar bills have passed through the state Senate in the past but were halted when they couldn’t get enough votes in the state House.
Currently 13 states legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes, but a number of states are considering measures that would increase that number.
Yesterday the New Hampshire senate passed a bill that would allow the drug to be used by patients who receive approval from a physician and the state. Unlike the Minnesota bill, the New Hampshire legislation has already passed through the state House, meaning the two bodies will need to negotiate on the bill before sending it to the governor’s desk.

im so high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those lawmakers should start to realize that the Prohibition of Marijuana is making the “Drug Dealers” rich without the possibility of Taxation…
Sell it in a Liquor store like a pack of Cigs and tax it… There would be another huge amount of money Making the Country a little more stable financially…
I agree with patrick…It should be taxed, and an age limit set, just like alcohol I think it should have the same rules. after all they are BOTH a drug. If there are certain guidlines to follow, legalizing pot will get our ecomony up and running again…and lets face it people will be ALOT happier!!!!!!
does any one know what kind of petitions to sign or get to to get in on the vote? in other words, how can I help get marijuana legalized?
